“Only if life was as silken as this dress”
It is a deep, dark coming-of-age story about a girl child branded as a curse (Pishachini), navigating emotional abuse and confronting sexual threat, before finally finding her place in the lap of an imperfect, silent, and delayed love.
Thorns in the forest, though intimidating, are the only powerful shields, protecting nascent shoots from external harm.
Thank you Kitaab for giving my story this beautiful home.
“An infant never consciously holds the memory of births and deaths, of festivities and funerals, unless it’s injected into the veins as fables to treasure or remorse to lament.” –Swati Basu Das
